The First Presbyterian Church of Irwin
The First Presbyterian Church of Irwin is
a foundation of believers seeking to proclaim the love of God through the
joyous message of Jesus Christ. Building on each member's
spiritual gifts, we spread His message of love and hope throughout our congregation and community. ~ Bible Verse Reading:
"ONE THING HAVE I DESIRED OF THE LORD,
THAT WILL I SEEK AFTER; THAT I MAY DWELL
IN THE HOUSE OF THE LORD ALL THE DAYS
OF MY LIFE, TO BEHOLD THE BEAUTY OF THE
LORD, AND TO INQUIRE IN HIS TEMPLE."

The Norwin Men's Prayer Fellowship is again sponsoring the noon time Lenten Service at the First United Church of Christ on Main St in Irwin (next to Rite Aid). Each week beginning on Ash Wednesday, March 5th and ending Holy Week, Wednesday, April 16th a hymn sing begins at 11:30 followed by a worship service from 12-12:30. A luncheon follows in the church hall.
All are welcome!
We at the First Presbyterian Church hold a Lenten study each year following our 11:00 AM worship service during Lent. It will begin on Sunday, March 9 at Noon and end on Palm Sunday, April 13. This year we are going to study The Heidelberg Catechism. It consists of 129 short questions and answers dealing with many topics such as our sin and the way God frees us from the burden that sin carries. The study will include refreshments and soup being served in the church social room. Come out and join us as we prepare for the celebration of Easter. All are welcome.
Free income tax service will again be offered for taxpayers in this area who have low and moderate incomes. This assistance will come from IRS trained volunteer tax councilors who help in the preparation of Federal and State income tax returns, and for those who qualify, PA Property Tax Rent Rebate Forms.
Taxpayers are asked to bring a copy of 2012's Federal and State returns along with all of their 2013 tax records and property tax receipts.
NEW: We are required to see photo ID's and proof of social security numbers.
This service will be offered at the North Huntingdon Townhouse every Tuesday and Thursday from February 4 to April 15, 2014 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
Mark your calendars ~
Youth Club will be starting up on Wednesday, January 8th, 2014!!
We are excited to get the kids together in fellowship and continue our journey in faith together in a fun and meaningful way.
The goal of Youth Club is to continue to grow our kids in faith through lessons and fellowship. Our hope is that you will bring your kids to Youth Club when they are available BUT make it a priority for them. Youth Fellowship is so important to helping raise our kids in a community of faith.
To recap, Youth club is for all kids from grades K – 6. We will meet on Wednesday evenings. We will start promptly at 6:00 PM and will end promptly at 7:30 PM. We will meet as a group to start the program and then break up by grades and rotate through ‘stations’. We will then come back together as a group for a quick closing. Parents – please drop off and pick up your kids from the social hall.
We NEED ADULT and TEEN HELPERS on Wednesday evenings. Please prayerfully consider helping out. If you can help EVERY Wednesday, ONCE A MONTH, or ONCE throughout the program – please contact Lori Bertani at 724-561-7341 or Robin Toops at 412-956-5403.
We look forward to a great Youth Club Experience!!
