The First Presbyterian Church of
Irwin
With the calling of Rev. Dr.
Ronald H. Wakeman the PNC was dissolved by the congregation but the search
committee for our Christian Education Director find, with some updates, that
our original CIF gives an accurate insight as to who we are as a congregation
seeking to serve the Lord.

Key theological issues of
the church and society that are reflected in the ministry of the
congregation/organization:
-
We endeavor as disciples of
Jesus Christ to love the unloved, to befriend the friendless and to reach out
to the lost world in need of God’s grace.
-
We accept the Scriptures of
the Old and New Testaments to be, by the Holy Spirit, the unique and
authorative witness to Jesus Christ in the Church universal, and God’s word.
-
As a congregation, we find
comfort and peace through a strong sense of tradition and conservative values
in an ever changing and chaotic society.
-
As such, we do not address or
pass judgment from our pulpit on world political issues or events, PC(USA),
General Assembly decisions, or local politics.
-
We embrace equality and
justice, and believe that God’s people are called to holiness in all aspects
of life.
-
As we believe all people are
created by God, so all should be offered an invitation to salvation.
