Fit for a King

(click photos to enlarge)

Sweeping the hardwood floor in anticipation of the new carpeting. Also in view is the re-upholstered big chair that Caleb and his buddies share when listening to the children's sermon.

The two photos above show the dark and light patterns formed by where and where not the pews occupied the floor. Since these cues would not be seen with the new carpet in place, careful measurements were taken so that the pews could be bolted securely again to the floor in the proper position.

The carpet shows pinking shear edges where it will be fused with a parallel roll of carpet in covering the floor. Here a worker is cutting the rug to size.

The carpet is folded over exposing a white under belly as the laying out proceeds. A tool of the trade used to stretch out bulges is seen on the white bottom of one of the rolls.

The completed pews are shown favoring one side of the sanctuary from this balcony view. They will favor the other side when the carpet is down there allowing the work to continue to the other side.

A roll of carpet is laid out on the aisle between the wall and columns.
