The Reverend Lanny Mellinger
Our most recent pastor was Lanny Mellinger, who began his ministry at First Presbyterian on November 1, 2000. Rev. Mellinger attended Grove City College and, in 1984 earned his Masters of Divinity at Princeton Theological Seminary in Princeton, New Jersey. Prior to his arrival at First Presbyterian of Irwin, Rev. Mellinger served in three churches:
4 years as Associate Pastor of 1st Presbyterian Church of Libertyville, Illinois
7 years as Pastor at Unity Presbyterian Church in Mercer, Pennsylvania
5 years as Pastor and Head of staff at Trinity United Presbyterian Church in Sparta, Illinois
We also were fortunate to have with us at that time, Dr. Bruce Maxwell, our Minister of Congregational Services. Rev. Mellinger left First Presbyterian to accept a position at Pine Run Presbyterian in Apollo.
