Marnie Abraham Russell |
Rev. Marnie Abraham Russell,
our recent Interim Pastor, is a graduate of
Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, Pepperdine University School of Law, and the University of Pittsburgh. She has
served as the Interim Pastor at the New Salem and Vandergrift (Trinity)
Presbyterian Churches, as a Temporary Supply Pastor at the United Presbyterian
Church of New Kensington, and as a worship leader and preacher for numerous
congregations, including Redstone Highlands. Rev. Russell is a past Moderator
of the Presbytery of Redstone, where she is currently serving as Chair of the
Ethics Committee and as a member of the Worship Committee and the Theological
Formation Group on Peace, Unity and Purity. She also served on the Permanent
Judicial Commissions of this Presbytery and the Synod of the Trinity, as well
as the General Assembly Task Force on “Changing Families.”

Rev. Russell was the first
woman to serve as President of the Westmoreland Bar Association and the
Westmoreland Bar Foundation. She is on a temporary leave of absence from her
part-time practice of law with her husband, Ron, at Ronald L. Russell &
Associates, P.C., in Greensburg and Pittsburgh, where she concentrates on
Family Law, Elder Law and Disability issues. Ron Russell is an Elder, who is
active in Kiwanis and Youth Leadership Training. He also makes great spaghetti
sauce for church events. Rev. Russell and Ron live in the Lincoln Heights
section of Jeannette (Hempfield Township).

Rev. Russell’s parents are
also Elders and they live in Greensburg. Her mother, Ginnye, is a retired
teacher. She is still active in Presbyterian Women. Her father, Bill Abraham,
coached football at Hempfield for over 30 years and served as the first
Director of the WCCC Educational Foundation. Rev. Russell and her family look
forward to their time of worship and fellowship at First Presbyterian Church
of Irwin.
