Pastoral Care
Due to legal restrictions placed on hospitals and nursing homes to
guard patient confidentiality (Health
Insurance Portability and Accountability Act or HIPAA), we recommend
that you do the following:

Please inform the church office when you or your family members are hospitalized.

When registering for a hospital stay, please indicate your church affiliation and let the registrar know that you permit your name and room to be released to clergy.
SPECIAL NOTE: Please see the Patient Identification Code policy in regards to visitors (Pastors) seeing your child at Children's Hospital. -
If you have a family member that is in a nursing home and that nursing home resident is a church member, please inform the church office when your family member is hospitalized. Without written consent, nursing homes are not permitted to tell clergy if and where residents are hospitalized.
