The top ranking pie in sales for Thanksgiving in 2011 was not a pie but Pumpkin Roll! It was a clear winner at nearly twice the next best sellers in line which was a tie between Dutch Apple and Pumpkin at 19 each. Nobody was enticed by weight watching since the No Sugar Added Apple pie had zero sales. Likewise, the classic Lemon Meringue was a no sale this year.
 
According to The Pie Shoppe Dutch Apple is there #1 selling pie. They further elaborate that In the fall months, Pumpkin Pie increases in popularity, joining Razzleberry and Coconut Cream in a 3-way tie for 2nd place. The Pumpkin Roll aside, Dutch Apple tied with Pumpkin as number one in sales for the church. Razzleberry though, was tied for 6th place while Coconut Cream was not offered.
 
How does 2011 compare to 5 years ago? In 2006 the total pies sold was over twice that of 2011 (329 and 151 pies respectively). For both 2006 and 2011 Pumpkin Roll was the top seller. The lead Pumpkin Roll had was not as great in 2006 where Razzleberry came in second followed by Pumpkin and then Dutch Apple. 2006 matches The Pie Shoppe's experience of Razzleberry in second place followed by Pumpkin which increases in the Fall. Dutch Apple was not as popular though in fourth place.
 
No Sugar Added Apple, though still tied for last place, did exceed zero sales with six sold. Meanwhile Lemon Meringue was more respected coming in eighth place in 2006.
