DONATION GUIDELINES

The Food Pantry at First Presby Irwin appreciates your support of our mission. The following outlines guidelines for non-perishable donations.

NON-PERISHABLE DONATIONS

All non-perishable donated items must:

Be non-perishable. This includes canned or boxed items, juices, pasta, canned meats, sauces, vegetables, prepared foods, etc.

Have the original manufacturers label. We are unable to redistribute any items missing this label.

Be free from any obvious defect or contamination. This includes popped tops or bulging lids, as well as visible mold or rust on cans or bottles.

Items we cannot accept include:

  • Homemade goods or canned items
  • Jarred baby food
  • Prescription drugs
  • Any item that has been opened or has a broken seal
  • Any item that has past the “best by” or “expiration” date listed on the product

Our most needed items include:

  • Canned tuna or chicken
  • Peanut Butter
  • Cereal (preferably whole grain)
  • Canned fruit and vegetables
  • Macaroni and cheese
  • Boxed meals (Hamburger Helper, etc)
  • Canned meals (stew, ravioli, etc)

We also ask you to consider specialty food items. These items help us meet the needs of seniors and those with dietary restrictions.

Specialty items include:

  • Dietary restriction friendly foods – sugar free, gluten free, lactose free, dairy free, low sodium, keto friendly
  • Food items marked as “Heart Healthy” – 100% juice (no heavy syrup), no sugar added, good source of fiber
  • Whole grain foods
  • Foods that are culturally relevant – spices, vegetable oil, olive oil, breakfast cereals
